While out and about on this July 4th weekend, John and I stopped by the Hakone Japanese Gardens. It was built in 1915 and was the first authentic Japanese garden in the United States.

This small waterfall which descends down several levels provides gentle splashing background music. I fought the urge to grab a bench and park it right here for several hours, days, years.
