Christmas Scarf Making
I'm winding up my Christmas scarf-making sessions soon. I have my yarn all back out and organized by color and have added new yarn to my stash. I've also added new beads to my bead collection. I would like to make my own blocking board for the scarves. All it would take is a plank of wood, some cotton batting, some gingham material (for the lines), and a staple gun. I have none of it, so it remains in the realm of wishful thinking. Maybe by next year though…
I did discover a new, somewhat pricey place to pick up exotic yarn—Commuknity. I found a really super-soft yarn that's seventy percent bamboo and thirty percent silk from the Vickie Howell yarn collection (Love). It's going to make an extremely soft non-itchy scarf for someone special. My only regret is that the yarn is too expensive to make an afghan. I take that back. It's probably a good thing.
I also ran across another bead shop, Sew Beadazzled, that carries only glass beads. Hep me, Jesus, there goes my paycheck.
