Birthday Gift
Drawing the line

November 11th was BillyBob's birthday. Co-worker, LeslieMac, inspired me to look at gift-giving differently—experiences not presents. So, this year I gave my oldest grandson BillyBob's Birthday Coupon Book. With coupons ranging from going to get a Coke to taking photos to going to the Tech Museum and more, I'm curious to see if this will appeal to a boy who has so many toys already.

As I stood knocking on his front door, I thought this is going to fall flat and he's going to think what a cheap grandmother he has or he just might really like the personal attention and the gift that will keep giving long after his toys' batteries have died. I'll keep you posted on the gift's success, or lack of it.

His little brother, RayRay, has a birthday next month and I'll know he'll feel left out if he doesn't get a similar present as ‘Brother.’ So, brainstorming right now for a coupon book for a four year-old which will probably be more challenging than making one for a nine year-old.
