Pink Bats, Traffic, and Mash-ups

Pink bats to help benefit breast cancer.

“Major League Baseball granted special permission for players to use the colorful bats - baby pink, at that - for Mother's Day. They're part of a weeklong program to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.”

Stuck In Traffic,. Whenever you're stressed over the idiots on the road, you can call 209-337-1898 and report in to the answering machine. [Thanks, Rock & Roll Librarian]

Love the Re-Imagineering blog. Miss Walt Disney at the helm. I haven't been to Disneyland since about 2001. I only spent about an hour there, frustrated with the amount of strollers congesting the walksways. Have had no desire to go back even though John and I spent our honeymoon there in the late 80's. Disneyland used to be special. I remember as a kid living in Texas in the late 50's and early 60's and visiting my grandparents who lived near Anaheim. My grandmother would save E Tickets for us so that we weren't limited to just three when we visited.

I've become a fan of musical mash-ups. I really started looking for stuff after listening to American Edit. “Novacaine Rhapsody” won me over (Queen and Green Day). Now I find myself preferring that version to Green Day's original “Novacaine.” A really fun one is the Police vs. Rick James with a Roxanne / Super Freak combo. My current favorite is the Gnarls Barkley vs. Prince combo, “Crazy Times.” So much fun.

Sunday's Mother's Day. So go hug a mom!
