I finally finished RayRay's blanket. Yea!!! Here's a photo of the detail on it.

I got the inspiration for it from 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws, and Afghans : Crochet Squares to Mix and Match. So much fun.

I start on BillyBob's (eldest grandson) this weekend. And didn't I have a blast watching him pick out the pattern (no, Grandma Shell, is just learning crochet and can't do shapes yet). We went to the yarn store together and he picked out the colors too. Nothing subtle for Mr. BillyBob…green, yellow, and bright red. My eyeballs hurt thinking about it. I'll just have to wear shades while I'm working on it.

With all this crocheting, I finished my first audio book, Nora, Nora by Anne Rivers Siddons. I had read every book she wrote in the '90's, but this one had slipped by me. What a treat to be read to while crocheting.

I've been super busy with Stuff. I found out I have diabetes and that's been a setback, but I'm adjusting. I think I'm mourning or grieving or something. This has just been a tough year. Hopefully, things will look up. I'm searching for that positivity thang and focusing on what's important, what's real, what to treasure. The smile on RayRay's face when I give him the blanket, the hug from Sherah on the upcoming Mother's Day, the phone call from my Mama, friends checking up on me, the beautiful irises in the backyard, the wag of Teddy's tail, the wolf whistle from Oscar the parrot…

Those are precious things and I'm feeling better already. Now, on to flower mandalas!
