Yosemite Get Away
Drawing the line

On Good Friday, Betty and I drove up to Yosemite. We stayed overnight at the Apple Tree Inn (which was great), just south of the south entrance to Yosemite. We had a nice little suite with a fireplace and a back porch that overlooked the woods. We worried about the weather conditions, but Friday had a constant light rain that was relaxing. I slept with the window open, listening to rain and smelling redwoods.

On Saturday, we went back to Yosemite and although showers were expected for the day, the clouds parted in gaps and the lighting was awesome. I posted a few of my photos on Flickr:

  1. Trees in the clouds
  2. El Capitan with low cloud
  3. Another photo of El Capitan and the clouds
  4. Yosemite Falls walkway
  5. A closer look at Lower Yosemite Falls
  6. Yosemite reflection
  7. Yosemite Valley Floor panoramic

The scariest moment on the way back home was when we ran into a solid white cloud at about 6,000 feet on Highway 41. Other than that, it was just what I needed.
