Crocheting My Little Fingers Off
Drawing the line

So, I'm working on a new afghan for RayRay, the youngest grandson. This one is also made up of blocks, but with the help of 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws, and Afghans, I'm creating my own design. Judging by the number of crocheted squares that will now be used as pot holders or squares to be put under hot dishes, it's not as easy as it sounds. Fortunately when one doesn't quite work out, there are lots of others to try. Hope to be done within a month. Keeping fingers busy with yarn and hook, keeps them out of food.

After seven months of crocheting, I now have a nice collection of leftover yarn. I ordered The Ultimate Book of Scrap Afghans. Should be handy. At work, we have a young family. Their first baby is due later this year. Which should give me enough time to read Candy Blankies, and whip up a little something soft.

I can't tell you how peaceful I find the process of crocheting. I'm at the point where I can now crochet and watch a sub-titled movie. Yea! But it's a fairly cheap hobby, lasts a long time, and I solve the world's problems as I crochet.

I saw my library now has audio books that you can check out / download. I rushed over and actually got a library card, picked out a book online that I thought would be nice to hear while I crochet, and then—dang—the audio software's not available for a Mac. Imagine my disappointment.
