In my questionnaire I asked, "What are the top three reasons why you have a personal homepage? (i.e., to provide info about myself/my family; a newsletter; to show my children; for my personal business; sharing hobbies with other people of similar interests; to search for a relationship; share my ideas, beliefs, philosphies; to show off; school project; to be cool; other reasons)" People usually have a several reasons for starting a personal homepage. Asking for the top three reason, I felt would provide more depth than just a "why". Here are all the reasons for having a personal homepage:

		What this tells me is that there is a reason why it is called a personal homepage. It's important to people to have the freedom to express themselves. And it's important to reach out to other people and share experiences. I was surprised at how many women considered the learning of new technology an important part of the personal homepage experience. It's been an important part of my own. I was also surprised to find how many others used their pages as a way for family and friends to keep in touch. Isn't it great how they can now see what we've been up to, and download our latest pictures. We can see what their new baby looks like, which side of the family she takes after. And I'm very glad to see that "fun" made the top ten. Because creating webpages can be a blast. Anyone who's seen my Stupid Penis Tricks knows I'm having way too much fun.
