I just thought I was feeling perkier. Cold is still bitin' my ass. Honey and I celebrated the 22nd anniversary of our first date (midnight Rocky Horror) by staying on the couch, watching videos, and ordering takeout via the Outback. We did manage to drag our butts out to see A Beautiful Mind, which is stickin to my ribs.
But okay, here I go, back in the saddle and it ain't pretty. Well, except for my 50th year hairdo that Tracy at L'Image (such a sweetie) is helping me create. Should be primo by September.
Enough of me, back to the Web. Short entry today.
The Head Lemur has a new installment in pixelview, an interview with Leo Robert Klein. This led to an older article of Leo's, Web Design and Sin.
Feeling perkier despite all the hacking from last week's cold. Began a spit and polish on femmass this weekend. Taking down listings that no longer updated. Searching for new leads to other personal homepages that shine. *sigh* I'm wondering if that is a concept that is past it's prime.
The biggest problem with maintaining a personal homepage has always been time. Getting the time to update, to maintain, and to create new pages. Weblogs (via Blogger and the rest) can be written on the fly and seem to meet whatever need that drove people to create their personal homepages in the first place. But just because you can dish it out faster doesn't make it better; it's just faster crap. But I'm not ready to give up yet.
Will be starting an oil painting class with Miz Liz tomorrow. Just for fun. Remember that word? Not a bloody edge in sight, unless it's the Alizarin Crimson running down the edge of my canvas.

Always looking for more color combos.
Have had the killer chest cold for the past five days. Am just able to drag my ass up to the chair and turn on the computer. I think I'm gonna live.
The anniversary of my layoff has come and gone. I'm still at my comfortable temporary perch, and am thankful for it. But no looking back, only forward. This September I turn 50 and plan on doing it with gusto. This involves growing my 50th year hairdo (and you know I'm a big one on new 'dos) which should ripen in September, and getting healthier and slimmer. Dropped 10 pounds alone just from being sick. Too bad I can't live on bread and water.
Enough of me, time to catch up on the Web…
Jeff's Dichotomy is a finalist in the Art/Culture section of the SXSW. Congrats on the recognition for such a worthwhile project.

While waiting not so patiently for new episodes of the Sopranos and Six Feet Under, have got hooked on Smallville (oooo, Lex you bad boy). Here's the 'school newspaper', the Smallville Torch.

Things are looking up: Dave gets a Web Designer job. Yea!
Back to the couch, my ABC soup, and All My Children…
Bettie2, my resurrected hard drive of August '01, crashed again this weekend. Bettie3 rose from the ashes. It wasn't as bad as it could have been since I learned well from the last time and had everything backed up on CDs. Except my email and my sheep links to be added. Cynthia, write me back. I lost your email before I had time to reply.
Spent today updating my Resource Guide. I've also installed the handy-dandy Atomz search engine for Makes Grown Men Cry. We'll see how it holds up.
How to evaluate a content management system. I hear CMS tossed around here and there, thought I'd check it out.
