THE FLOWER MARKET

This year I'll be making my own Christmas cards which I hope will all be done by the end of the month. Saturday, Miz Liz, Michele and I went to the San Francisco flower market on Brannon Street where amongst the flowers are also ribbons and Christmas crafts. Afterwards we had breakfast at the Flower Market Cafe, and then headed to the Pearl where they had three floors of art supplies and craftsy stuff. The second floor was nothing but paper. Hep me, Jesus.

Then for something totally different, Honey and I went to see Tool that night at Shoreline. I love Tool, but the concert was a tad weak and standing on an incline all night was a little rough, but despite the tight security, it was worth the experience. I just have to find a webpage to see what the lead singer looks like as he was just a silhouette in front of the video screen all night. Was he naked or were those really tight clothes? The speculation kept me busy.

Love style guides. Jeffrey points to the New York Library Style Guide which covers XHTML.

Glad to see Tim putting in his two cents: WWW royalties considered harmful.

While working on the collage for my Sixth Year, I ran across an Interview with Ricky Flores from The National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Is the Justice Department selling out? "It sends the signal that wealth and intransigence, combined with a healthy dose of political influence, is enough to escape culpability under the antitrust laws even when the government wins on every material element of its case.". - Ed Black, president of the Computer and Communications Industry Association.

Check out Joe's Web Page Colour Scheming for when you can't decide on a color palette. I know. Joe spells it wrong, but he's a nice guy and we'll let it slide.

Okay, back to the Christmas cards.

THE SIXTH YEAR

Continuing The Journey, The Sixth Year. Yes, it's six years on the web for my website. The one thing I haven't had to complain about this past year is not having enough time to work on my webpages. WooHoo! (I still love that word.)

In no particular order...

Search MacSurfer's headlines. It's those cheap thrills.

Has The Onion Dried Up?

Online recruiters now looking for work. Trickle down.

Printable webpages? CodeBitch gives some pointers and pitfalls, especially if you use a Mac.

Good news: Finally, a pda, a phone, and an organizer. Bad news: They're not available until next year.

File under Que Handy: Best Free Reference Web Sites. Thanks, Jessamyn.

From Evolt: Rollovers without Javascript.

And, National Security's Toll on Freedom of Expression.

Beautiful stainless steel statue

OUR LADY OF PEACE
Santa Clara, CA
A beautiful stainless steel statue by sculptor Charles C. Parks. Although sandwiched in between noisy 101 and Bowers, there's a peacefulness here. Here's her sleeve and hand.
