DOG PADDLIN'

Cybergrrl Maureen Nelson gives advice for building your portfolio (Print and Web).

Sherlock Plugins. All free, 346K. Once I get this Sherlock thing down, will probably prefer it to going to a particular search engine url to search.

Geek Erotica. Good, I'm not the only one who looks at their Thrustmaster with a little more than idle curiosity.

Ass Quiz. I know, I find only the quality links. But I can be easily amused and this one's good for a laugh. Roll in it with the Bastard Test, Bitch Test, Un-telligence Test, and more.

THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE
4:53P

If you're into folk music, here's your resource from a woman's point of view. Gerri's Women's Folk Music Resources.

Gerri, knowing I have a soft spot for "This Little Light of Mine" (written by Harry Dixon Loes), writes, "This Little Light of Mine was the favorite song of Fannie Lou Hamer, the so-called 'female Martin Luther King Jr.'" Thanks for that tidbit, Gerri!

Speaking of shining lights, I've added Alyce McPartland to fem•mass. A mother who rants. Real life. Real Mom.

I've had a Michelleuva day! Been up since 7:00 a.m. cleaning those Michelle links. To be listed on Michelles Of The Web, you must be named Michelle, you can't be a movie star, and you must have a personal homepage.

Here are the Michelles who have joined the Michelle Web Domination Campaign: Michelle Werner, Michelle Thatcher, Michelle 'Stella' Poulin, Michelle Lee, Michelle and Michelle Glenetski.

Of course, I have a Michelles Who Don't Spell Their Name Right. It's not their fault. Here's the newest additions: Michele Haccoun, Michele Camarco, and Michele.

And what about those who have the gravest misfortune of not being named Michelle? In Believe it or not, I've added The Tiffany Namesake Web Site. And us Michelles thought we had it bad.

Still love The Hank Web, run by a woman named Marian who has been called Hank by people. A well-rounded Hank page complete with Pets named Hank, the Wisdom of Hank, and Hank Stuff.

And the name that causes much horror to it's owner, Stephen King. See questions not to ask a Stephen King. And guess what's the most common question asked?

ENQUIRING MINDS
11:16A

My Heartless area leads me to some strange sites. I had to contact Mr. Dick Johnson after seeing this one: The Original Penis Pillow.

And speaking of Mr. Happy, here's a little something from the Darwin Awards, - Mr. Happy's Vacuum. Apparently such events are "common in Germany". Why Germany? ;)

Better late than never. Just looked at Good Grief! The Peanuts Quilt (A Tribute to Charles Schulz). Nice thoughts.

Left-Hand. Being a leftie in a rightie world, I always appreciate a good left hand page. Thanks, Atomjack!

Just got back from the show (saw Frequency...yea!) and thought I'd clean up some of my Smokin' Links. So, why when I click on the url, http://www.novad.com/mjaneway/opening.html (The Secret Logs of Captain Janeway), does this page, http://www.teensexmachine.com/siccash/index.html, come up???

In the process of trying to find the correct url, I did find a link to The Life and Times of Captain Jayne Safeway, and ultimately found http://www.novad.org/MJaneway/MJcontents3.htm.

Hmmm, when NovaD changed her url from .com to .org, I wonder if someone absconded with the old url and are having their way with it by redirecting to sleazy-ass crap sites (as opposed to quality-ass sex sites)? Will have to ask to see if she knows anything about it. Stay tuned.

Have you ever clicked on a sex link and had 50 million windows pop open? I haaaate that a lot. Really discourages surfing into new areas. And you can't really count on most sex directories, except Jane's Reviewed Adult Links. I wonder if anyone has anyone started a weblog with quality sex links? Will have to do a search.

FUNNY WOMEN

Heard from one of my most delightful fem•mass'rs, Carol, the Goddess of Reproduction, a title bestowed on her by Scott Adams himself. True story.

Here's a list of companies lookin' for mo money (and terminating employees): Altavista, Babycenter, CarOder.com, CBS Internet Group, Drkoop.com, Great Entertaining, Insweb, KBkids.com, Linuxcare, Living.com, Load Media, Petplace, Petstore.com, Quepasa, Skymall.com, Sony Online Entertainment, ThirdAge Media, Total Sports, and Turblinux. Just in case you keep up with that kinda thing.

Finally, a dictionary for y'all to understand people who talk like me!

SYS ADMINS
2:47P

Just had my very first chocolate-dipped strawberry, mmmmmm. Goes perfect with today's first link: Who Wants To Marry a Sysadmin. Take a look at the Bachelors and Bachelorette. See photos of them in action, using both hands on a keyboard. Forget the flowers or candy. Just give me a man who can hook me up, save my hard drive, and talk to me in chmod commands.

All hot and bothered now, so what do I spy with my little i. Awww, you can now match your iMac.

Is your furniture naughty when you're not around?

And to show that my mind was not entirely in the gutter, Web Hosting: Gold Mine or Glut?, hosts with the most, Webreview's Master Compatibility Chart for CSS and here's a list of Eric Meyer's CSS articles since 1997.

  Web Experiment No. 297   June 7, 2000

SUCCESS
5:31P

I just picked up my movie tickets at www.waiter.com and got to meet Una. Such a nice lady. She said that it was their policy to have customers redeem one prize a month (I had two free tickets), but that it was all about customer service. How refreshing to see a business bend it's rules in favor of the consumer. I declare Web Experiment No. 297 a success. WooHoo!

Of course, the 'Taco Bell Drive-Thru Rule of Thumb' always applies when picking up your food order--check those bags to make sure you have your complete order before leaving the premises.

BTW Una, who is an online shopper, says Peapod's cheaper than Web-Van and Make Up Mania is the place to get good deals on beauty products. ;)
