HO HO HO
7:35A

It's a cold, dark, and rainy morning, but I'm smilin. Nobscan.com, "scanned pictures of male genitalia in flaccid and humorous states". Apparently they were inspired by Cat Scan. Yes, people scan their cats too. Check out nobscan's gallery…Santa Nob…need I say more? And it's not even December yet.

LOOONG WEEKEND
11:45A

Thank God for long weekends. Finally had time to redesign fem•mass, all 27 pages! And even added two more shining lights: Maddie and Beth. It was the first time I used just CSS for style, and it was my first very small experiment in a more liquid design (the bottom nav moves when you resize the window…oooo).

Now, will probably spend the rest of the day/week updating my Michelles of the Web pages and then on to my next project: the redesign of Heartless's Holey Haven. WooHoo! Santa and Heartless — a feisty Christmas combo. I hear the music of "Sleighbells ringin, are you listening?" with slightly altered lyrics, "Slaveboys screamin, are you quivering?"…; or how about "Deck the Halls with Ho's Named Holly"…but I digress…color…

Color
I recently downloaded Colorfield's Insight, a Photoshop plug-in that lets you "check the legibility of your designs for color-deficient viewers". Here's what a portion of my sheep graphic looks like as viewed by a person with one type of color-blindness.

Here are some additional links on color and color-blindness:

  2. Color Matters
  3. Creative article on color perception
  4. Digital Web's The Red Queen Color Theory
  5. Visibone's Color Lab

Design and Designing Mags
I've been thirsting for knowledge and inspiration. I already subscribe to I.D., but am checking out these also: IdN, Shift, and Wallpaper. A little pricey, but they'll be the gift that keeps on giving.

Always been pretty much a loner; I zig, everyone else zags. Nothing's changed as I've gotten older, I'm just more used to it and try to make it work for me. Here's an interesting thread from ten days ago on dreamless.org: Web Designers who aren't in the 'in' crowd.

XPLANE|XBLOG: The visual thinking weblog (which leads to Web Design and Cognitive Clinical Interviews, an August article).

Paying for Search Engines
These links from Search Engine Watch apply mostly to commercial sites, but something to keep in mind if you design for them.

  1. Pay for Placement?
  2. Yahoo Drops Free Submit for Commercial Categories
  3. AltaVista Latest to Carry GoTo.com Paid Listings

Mac Stuff
For those of us with Macs who have a hard time getting out of the chair or who need to be reminded to take a break. Download a trial version of Stretch Break.

Create your own iMacAquarium.

Miscellaneous

  1. Lily's FAQ on printing Web pages
  2. Jess's list of healthy alternatives to tampons. I never knew.

CD BINGE
3:16P

After several months of no new cds (except for Everclear's "So Much for the Afterglow" that Sherah got me for my birthday), I went on a cd binge:

  1. Tommy Bolin, "Private Eyes"
  2. Beatles, "Rubber Soul"
  3. Natalie Merchant, "Live In Concert NYC 99"
  4. Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Californication"
  5. 3 Doors Down, "The Better Life"
  6. The Dandy Warhols, "Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia"

And to totally satiate my angst-rock-hop-mosh jones:

  1. Godsmack, "Awake"
  2. Papa Roach, "Infest"
  3. Linkin Park, "Hybrid Theory" (my best surprise of the bunch)
*belch*

Now if I could just find MacUmba's "Don't Hold Your Breath." Bagpipes and Brazillian music; sounds rather Cajun to me.

BODACIOUS TA-TA'S
7:38A

Thought I'd whip this out before I go to work:

  1. Have you ever had sex with a turkey? These women have.
  2. And before you rush out to buy your copy of "Sex Lives of the Rich and Famous", here's Clean Sheets' review.
  3. For funny sex stories, here's WyrrdBoy's EroticHa.
  4. From Salon, Dylan Edwards little article on snacking. Isn't it cute when guys write about it?
  5. For the latest sex news.
  6. Memoirs of An Anti-Geisha.
  7. And, ladies, if you've ever wondered…
  8. Goth Sluts ask the question, what is more obscene - war or sex? Check out their vampire porn links.
  9. If you're a craftsy kinda gal, from the Frugal Domme, *things* you can make at home.
And I'm suppose to work after this?

BREADCRUMB TRAILS
2:56P

A fine day for following breadcrumb trails and adding new shining lights to fem•mass: Donna Jaggard, Jess, Laura, Alice Matsumoto, Lillian Chan, and Jane Duvall. The repopulating of fem•mass makes me smile after last week's severe pruning.

At last, here's a list of sex-related diaries/blogs found on my journey today:

  1. Her Desires
  2. From Sexilicious, The Editrix Diary
  3. The Breast Chronicles, yes, a breast of the web blog
  4. Not Your Average Porn Star
  5. In Search of Sin, like to see what the girls are up to
  6. Pursed Lips
  7. mouthorgan
  8. section12 BDSM Weblogs, bunches of 'em
  9. Web Queeries, "They put the B in Blogger, We put the Q in Queer"
This just makes me so antsy to get started on my Heartless redesign. Such inspiration.

Now, where did Honey go?
