2000 With the creation of the second version of Makes Grown Men Cry, I now have a site I can show the people at work, future employers, and even Mama (if she doesn't click on the adult humor link). The seventh version of LMichelle, is finished and populated with clean and well-lit content. I also add a resources page to keep track of my links. My voice comes back with Inflatable Sheep. More than a what's new, it tracks the clean well-lit version of my life and Web and I find it a relief to be able to talk again, even if it is filtered. Heartless goes down for revamping and I feel as though my sexuality has suddenly got stranded on the side of the road.
FIFTH YEAR OBSERVATION
In actuality, what I've found is that I've barely made it to this five-year point with my voice intact. Any work that gets done, is done at a sacrifice of time with other equally important things like [insert boyfriend-friends-children-grandchildren-reading-weekends-holidays here]. And it's been a challenge to making webpages where the design and words comes from my heart, never mind the more mundane challenge of answering email. After two tough years of struggling to keep it alive, I can finally say that my website is down to a manageable level. And although it's cleaness crimps my style, I think I'll live. My webpages, and the process of creating them, are still about connecting with people whether it's over shared coding or shared feelings. To me that is the best part of the journey.
Peace y'all,
